Voxer Named Finalist in 2014 CTIA Hot for the Holidays Awards

Voxer recognized for innovation in productivity

SAN FRANCISCO – August 19, 2014 – Voxer announced today it was named a finalist in the productivity category of CTIA’s Hot for the Holidays Awards competition. In time for the holiday buying season, the Hot for the Holidays Awards recognize the hottest mobile consumer electronics, including gadgets and accessories from entertainment and health to the connected car and home.

The Hot for the Holidays Awards ceremony will take place at the Connected Life Zone stage Wednesday, September 10 from 1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Voxer is a free service that provides live push-to-talk (PTT) voice communications, along with recorded voice messages, text messages, photos and location sharing from any mobile device, instead of needing a separate walkie talkie. Users can download Voxer to any iOS, Android or Windows Phone device, and use it across WiFi and cellular networks, to quickly communicate, even across groups, regardless of location or device. Users can access past messages that they can play back, so communication is never missed and does not need to be repeated. Oftentimes tone and meaning gets lost in text-based tools, and Voxer provides the personal experience of a phone call with the convenience of email or text messages, increasing efficiency of communications.

“Our goal at Voxer is to provide real time communications – including voice, text and multimedia – across any mobile device, and this recognition validates our efforts to help people increase their productivity through efficient communications,” said Irv Remedios, president, Voxer. “ With just a quick download from app stores, users can be up and running right away, communicating with each other or in teams, across geographies.”

“CTIA awards recognize the best and most innovative products and services for wireless companies looking to improve their operations and their engagement with their customers. Perfectly positioned for retailers to prepare for the holiday buying season, Super Mobility Week attendees will see what will be the next hottest devices and services,” said Robert Mesirow, CTIA Vice President and Show Director.

Along with CTIA’s two other awards programs, E-Tech Awards and MobITs Awards, there were almost 300 entries submitted and scored by more than 50 industry experts, analysts and media.

Super Mobility Week attendees and online users will also have the opportunity to choose a “Crowd Favorite” by voting for their favorite product, not just finalists, in each program. Online voting is open now and runs until Monday, September 8 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Super Mobility Week attendees can still vote via text onsite starting September 8 until 10:00 a.m. ET Wednesday, September 10.

Super Mobility Week will take place September 9, 10 & 11, 2014 at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas.
