What is the most interesting fact (about history, science, technology, etc.) that you know?
\nOne of the coolest things I ever learned is the fact that there is more than one kind of infinity, and some kinds of infinities are larger than others. For instance, while there are an infinite number of natural numbers and an infinite number of real numbers, there are *more* real numbers than there are natural numbers.<\/p>\n

What is a unique personal characteristic, hobby, or talent that you have?<\/p>\n

I do some Olympic lifting, but mostly I\u2019m into powerlifting. This means that I\u2019m strong enough to win arguments with my coworkers by picking them up and throwing them. This is always a handy fallback when I can\u2019t win my point on technical grounds.<\/p>\n

Where were you born and raised?<\/p>\n

I was born and raised in coastal Massachusetts. My parents live in a town that was once known as \u201cSalem Village,\u201d which you probably know as the site of the Salem witch hysteria. A short walk from their house is theRebecca Nurse homestead<\/a>, where one of the women executed during the witch trials had lived.
\nWhat was your childhood \/ family nickname?<\/p>\n

My full name is \u201cChristine Joyce\u201d but I have only *ever* been called that by angry elementary school teachers. My childhood nickname was \u201cChris\u201d. In college I started going by my initials and that\u2019s what stuck.
\nWhat\u2019s your favorite movie?<\/p>\n

Desk Set<\/em>, starring Spencer Tracy as a computer efficiency expert and Katharine Hepburn as the reference librarian he\u2019s sent to replace with a Electronic Brain. I always wanted to grow up to be Hepburn\u2019s character in this movie. Sadly I grew up to be Spencer Tracy instead.<\/p>\n

What is the most interesting fact (about history, science, technology, etc.) that you know?<\/p>\n

There are more than 4 billion cell phones in use. About 3 million cell phones are sold every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a unique personal characteristic, hobby, or talent that you have?<\/p>\n

I have\u00a0a strong\u00a0passion for design\u00a0that always pushes me to learn and try\u00a0something new. I always get inspired by reading designer-related\u00a0blogs. Right now, I am designing and making jewelry\u00a0as a hobby. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Where were you born and raised?
\nTehran, Iran.<\/p>\n

What was your childhood \/ family nickname?
\nMy close friends used to (and still) call me Tinaz.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite movie?<\/p>\n

I love foreign films and I have so many favorites, but the last movie\u00a0I saw that I\u00a0really liked\u00a0was\u00a0<\/span>Caf\u00e9 de Flore<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What is the most interesting fact (about history, science, technology, etc.) that you know?<\/span><\/p>\n

Our Galaxy, the Milky Way, will collide with its nearest (equivalently sized) neighbor, Andromeda, in approximately 5 billion years. \u00a0And I am responsible for naming the remnant left behind after the collision, Milkomeda!<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a unique personal characteristic, hobby, or talent that you have?<\/p>\n

I like surfing a lot, I like traveling a lot (been to 36 countries around the world), and I have been known to dance a little bit when I have too much to drink. \u00a0I own one suit and approximately 40 Hawaiian shirts (but I\u2019d prefer if that ratio was even higher).<\/p>\n

Santa Barbara, CA.<\/p>\n

What was your childhood \/ family nickname?<\/p>\n

Technically, TJ is a nickname.\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your favorite movie?<\/p>\n

Besides\u00a0Terms of Endearment<\/em>? \u00a0Hmmmm, I have garnered extreme enjoyment from\u00a0The Big Lebowski<\/em>,\u00a0Raising Arizona<\/em>,\u00a0Office Space<\/em>, and all the\u00a0James Bond\u00a0<\/em>films.<\/p>\n
